Offset Printing is a printing technique in which the inked image is transferred (or ‘offset’) from a plate to a rubber blanket and then onto the printing surface. Offset printing is used in combination with the lithographic process which is based on the repulsion of ink and water. This technique uses a planographic (flat surface) on which the image to be printed obtains ink from the rollers, while the non-printing area attracts a water based film, therefore keeping the non-printing areas ink free.
Digital Printing is a method used to print from a digital based image directly onto a variety of media. Digital printing does not require printing plates that are used in offset printing, therefore allowing for on demand printing and short turn-a-round times.
